Session Reconnection¶
If you accidentally close your RDP session tab, you do not need to log in again. If you reopen the browser tab within 15 seconds, you are automatically reconnected to the same active session. No credentials are re-entered or stored in cookies.
How It Works¶
- When you close the tab, Excalibur keeps your session alive in the background for a short grace period (15 seconds).
- If you reopen the tab within that window, you are seamlessly redirected back to your running session — exactly where you left off.
- If the 15-second grace period expires, the session is terminated and you need to start a new one.
Tip
This applies to accidental tab closures or browser refreshes. Your credentials are never stored in cookies or local storage — the reconnection works because the server-side session is still active.
